Our family support is about providing services to support safe and supportive homes for children and young people. Sometimes we all need to reach out and help each other.
Our aim is to provide high quality assessments, training and services to provide safe, nurturing, and secure family environments for children and young people.

Accredited Family Group Conferencing
Family Group Conferencing is an evidence-informed formal meeting between family members, their extended support networks, agencies and other professionals to create a plan to support the wellbeing of a child or young person. This process is led by the family’s voice.
Family group conferencing offers a positive way to bring family members together, with a neutral facilitator, to create a plan for their child or young person.
Once contracted by an agency, Activated Concepts accredited facilitators work closely with families, agencies and professionals to explore a wide range of solutions to meet concerns in relation to children and young people.
We pride ourselves on our knowledge and recognition that the only expert in family systems, and what will work, is the family!
Foster Care Assessments and Training
Foster Care Assessments and Training is continuing to be in demand with the move to external assessors. This includes for family placements, foster care placements, guardianship assessments and restoration assessments.
At Activated Concepts, we are accredited by ACWA to provide the ‘Shared Lives’ training on development trauma, the importance of family and culture, and to use the evidence informed Step-by-step assessment framework. These training and assessment processes support the understanding of trauma and assessment of personality traits and skills that research indicates good carers/parents require.
Once contracted by an agency, we engage with the key parties as quickly as possible to begin the process to support timely placements and restorations.
Behaviour Management assessments, plans and interventions
Specialist Positive Behaviour Support (SPBS) focuses on evidence-based strategies and person-centred supports that address the needs of the person and the underlying causes of behaviours of concern, while safeguarding the dignity and quality of life of the children or family whom require support.
At Activated Concepts, we assess the interaction between our participant, the environment and other people involved with our participant in their context (not our offices). Our functional assessments, interventions, plans, data collection and training are always tailored to support behavioural change whilst empowering our participants, and their networks, to live their best life without restrictions, wherever possible.
Once contracted by an agency or family, we partner with all involved to support ongoing change, not just develop a standardised plan, and disappear. Our focus is on clinical interventions, purposeful relationships, ongoing analysis, and consistently seeking improvements to our specialist behaviour support as participants grow, change, and achieve more in their life!
Family Time and Youth Work
All time with our family is priceless. Family time is a formalised arrangement were our team support this process by attending and transporting the children and/or young people to family events. Sometimes, we might be contracted to stay to witness and protect all those involved from any possible issues.
Youth work at Activated Concepts is as varied as each young person we engage with! This might have a mentoring role, social role, educative role, or something else!
Once contracted by an agency or family, our team work hard to ensure rapport and trust is built with all parties to ensure an informed approach which is driven by the needs of the child and/or young person.
