The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health. This program supports Australians over 65 (or over 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) who wish to stay at home but need additional support.
Services include household help, meal preparation or delivery, personal care, and transport. The government subsidises these services, making them low-cost to you. CHSP is ideal for those needing a low level of support, with referrals to Home Care Packages available as needs increase.
Activated Concepts’ CHSP Services Include
Domestic Assistance
Home Maintenance
Group Social Support
Transport
Goals of CHSP
- 1. Provide basic assistance to those mostly able to cope independently.
- 2. Support increased independence at home and in the community.
- 3. Enable individuals to stay in their homes and communities as long as possible.
- 4. Foster community participation and provide a sense of purpose and confidence.
